- 12/5/20245/5Leading up to the Thanksgiving Holidays I visited the JCPenney store in Annapolis Mall, I wanted to buy dress shirts for my husband, and I found quite the deal in the men’s section (buy one get one FREE!) You see, the day before thanksgiving was his birthday and this is a store I have been going to for over 16 years to buy his shirts. When I got to the cashier (Jane), I was told that was not the case, I would have to pay full price for the shirts. I told her what the sign said in the men’s section. Jane was genuinely nice, because while I was there pondering ‘should I put back one of the shirts’ she asked if I wanted to check with a manger just to verify? I gladly said yes! The manager (Nerly) came over and we explained the situation to him, he was so kind and said he would go and check the section where I got the shirts. Afterwards he came back and said that I did in fact see correctly but the sign was not for those shirts. Simply means that I would be going home with a free shirt. Thanks to the courteousness and professionalism of Jane and Nerly I had a wonderful experience. Overall, the team at JCPenney demonstrated excellent customer service, and I left the store feeling valued and satisfied. I highly recommend this JCPenney location for anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free shopping experience. - 8/9/20241/5Stopped in the store to purchase a pair of sun glasses. When I was ready to checkout, I couldn’t find an employee working the checkout station closest to me, so I had to walk around to look for a clerk. We ended up in the mattress section and I asked the lady there if she could check us out. She said yes, then spotted my husband holding a sleep number bag. She asked if we bought a bed. We said yes. She then said “you spent that much money for a blow up mattress”…I told her she was rude and that we’d look for someone else to check us out, and proceeded to walk the store until I found another available clerk at a checkout station. 1. Your employee needs training. This “tactic” only shames and embarrasses your customers (and I feel none of these things now, but initially felt both) 2. It’s down right rude 3. It’s absolutely none of her business what we purchase and where we purchase from. 4. She has made certain I will never buy a mattress from JCpenny moving forward. I really hope JCpenny takes this review to heart and address this issue with the employee.
